Reflection 3-Riley Jaquin-Class 1-Is technology costing us more than we realize?

As we all probably know, technology has become incredibly popular in todays day in age. But are we paying too much for some of these pieces of technology that are supposed to increase our health, or prevent it from getting worse? We have apps, fit bits, apple watches, and many more, but some of these things are incredibly expensive.

How many of us rely on our apple watches to track our steps, measure our heart rate, tell us when we need to get up and walk around, or remind us to take a breathe? Yes, the Apple Watch will do all of this for you but is it 100% accurate? Of course not! Although these pieces of technology are great and yes they do help, you should not rely on them completely.   Flipboard posted a study that was done on fit bits that shows that fit bits have a 17% inaccuracy rate, which might not seem like a lot, but when you’re putting you health on the line, is a pretty big deal!

Not to mention , most of these gadgets are expensive! I know that I paid $300 for my Apple Watch, and yes I love it, but why $300!!!

There are many people in this world that would NEVER pay that amount for a watch that tracks their health no matter what state their health is in.

I do think that these gadgets help tremendously if you are willing to overlook the inaccuracy that might occur, the ridiculous price, and other things like the disconnect between older folks and these gadgets. I do think some things should be done to improve the accuracy, and the prices should be more affordable for everyone.
